The Star Gold Coast in Broadbeach is a popular entertainment and dining complex with a 24-hour casino and some of the best live shows on the Gold Coast, and it’s only a short 5-minute drive from our Broadbeach accommodation apartments. Here’s what you can enjoy at The Star Broadbeach this July:
An Evening with Johnathan Thurston – Encore Tour 2019
Johnathan Thurston – an NRL legend who needs no introduction – is going nationwide once more to recount famous highlights and stories from his career as one of the greatest NRL players of all time.
Johnathan Thurston’s 2019 Encore Tour will once again allow fans to get up close and personal with the superstar himself, who played 294 games for the North Queensland Cowboys, earned over 2,000 points in total and was a crucial force in their NRL Premiership success in 2015. A three-time Golden Boot Award winner, Australian international and Indigenous All Stars representative, Johnathan Thurston is an indisputable NRL icon who has achieved almost every NRL honour under the sun.
Catch An Evening with Johnathan Thurston at The Star Gold Coast on July 5.
Cosentino – Anything Is Possible Tour
Australia’s Got Talent runner-up Cosentino is all set to leave Australian audiences speechless once again with his brand new tour, Anything Is Possible.
Known the world over for his death-defying escapes, shocking illusions and captivating showmanship, Cosentino is an unrivalled Australian escapologist and illusionist who takes after none other than the great Harry Houdini himself. As well as Australia’s Got Talent, Cosentino has toured and performed worldwide, and has left nothing but stunned audiences in his wake.

Menopause The Musical
For women who have undergone, or are about to undergo, “the change”, Menopause The Musical is an unmissable internationally-successful musical that touches upon all the trails and tribulations of menopause with laugh-out-loud hilarity.
Following four hormonal in a lingerie shop, Menopause The Musical delivers hysterical one-liners, over-sentimental heart-to-hearts and innuendo-ridden versions of famous pop songs that will have both female and male audiences laughing from beginning to end. It’s a sing and dance extravaganza laden with relatable comedy, offering a lighthearted take on hot flushes, night sweats, memory loss and (much-needed) chocolate binges.
Menopause The Musical debuted in the US in 2001 and has since been performed in Madrid, Hungry, Ireland and the UK. After a successful Australian run in 2017 and 2018, Menopause The Musical is returning to the Gold Coast with a one-off performance at The Star Gold Coast on July 12.
Home of the Arts – July 2019
Home of the Arts – located next to the Nerang River in Surfers Paradise, a 10-minute drive from our central Broadbeach apartments – is a leading performing arts hub which is home to regular theatre, film, music and comedy. Here are just a few of the exciting shows you can catch this July:
An Evening at The Pink Poodle
Join Australian pop legend Normie Rowe for a nostalgic tribute to 60s music as well as the famous Pink Poodle in An Evening at The Pink Poodle – the ultimate homage to Australia in the 60s.
Capturing the glitzy cultural roots of the Gold Coast like never before, An Evening at The Pink Poodle is an all-singing, all-dancing live performance with a special focus on the iconic Surfers Paradise motel The Pink Poodle, the pink and green neon sign of which can still be seen to this day. Normie Rowe will take centre stage alongside performers from theatre company Running Duck, offering a full-blown 60s throwback complete with all the old-school dance moves.
Enjoy An Evening at The Pink Poodle at HOTA from July 4 to July 6.
Madama Butterfly
Be captivated by Giacomo Puccini’s Madama Butterfly, one of the most celebrated operas of all time – now coming to the Gold Coast for an exclusive three-day run.
Brought to life by renowned Australian theatre director John Bell, Madama Butterfly is an operatic masterpiece starring world-class singers and musicians with dazzling costumes and awe-inspiring oriental sets. Set in Nagasaki, Japan, the story of US Navy Lieutenant Pinkerton and beautiful young geisha Cio-Cio-San – also known as Madame Butterfly – is a timeless tale of love, fate and heartbreak, and one that has been performed all over the world since the early 20th century.
