Festival 2018 Gold Coast – arranged to coincide with the 2018 Gold Coast Commonwealth Games – is bringing citywide entertainment to the Gold Coast this April, and it’s totally free! Both Broadbeach and Surfers Paradise will play as hosts to this exciting festival, featuring the biggest names in Australian music performing live on stage as well as circus acts, dance performances, and visual arts to see up and down the Gold Coast. The fantastic Festival 2018 program as well as the atmosphere it will bring with it is not to be missed this coming April.
The Queensland Music Stage will situate in Surf Parade, Broadbeach for Festival 2018, set to offer some of the biggest names in Australian music performing live throughout the 2018 Gold Coast Commonwealth Games. First headlining act will be Kate Miller-Heidke, with other expected performances including Amy Shark, Lastlings, Ella Fence, Eliza and The Delusionals, and many more. Surfers Paradise, on the other hand, will offer live performances from Yothu Yindi and The Treaty Project, Susheela Raman, M.anifest, The Cat Empire, and Hot Dub Time Machine.
As well as live music, Festival 2018 will be hosting numerous performances including theatre, dance, and circus, as well as street acts, art exhibits, and food markets. Don’t miss the exclusive ‘Intimate Space’ dance performance by Restless Dance Theatre, ‘The Rite of Spring’ theatre show, the ‘Museum of the Moon’ visual art exhibit, and more. Performing up and down the Gold Coast will be old-school Hip-Hop group Boombox Chicks, as well as exciting street performances to catch by The Squad. Surfers Paradise will also host the ‘Giant Sing Along’, where a large lyrics screen and plenty of microphones will invite the community to sing along to some of the most popular songs in music! On top of all that, don’t miss the mouthwatering food markets that will take place in NightQuarter for Festival 2018, alongside live performances from Force Majeure, Dancenorth, The Farm, Punchdrunk, Jeremy Goldstein, and more.
